Mumbai Indians Preview
The match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will start at 7.30 pm today. The match will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
Mumbai Indians will have to perform as a unit instead of relying on individual performance in the IPL match against RCB, only then the team will be able to open its account. Mumbai Indians had a poor start to the season, having lost all three matches earlier.
Mumbai’s team first got defeated by Delhi Capitals by four wickets. After this, Rajasthan Royals defeated them by 23 runs and then unsurprisingly, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated them by five wickets.
It is also necessary for Mumbai Indians that their captain Rohit Sharma should score some runs. So far he has been able to score 41, 10 and 3 runs in three matches.
Despite losing all three matches, some players have done well individually. Ishan Kishan has scored 81, 54 and 14 runs at the top of the order, while young Tilak Verma (22, 61, 38) has impressed in the middle order. Mumbai Indians’ batting line-up has been strengthened with the inclusion of Dewald Brevis. Also, the return of fit Suryakumar Yadav to the team has been a boost to the middle order.
Suryakumar scored 52 runs in 36 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders. Kieron Pollard, who played an unbeaten 22 runs in five balls in the last match, can pose a threat to any opponent’s bowling attack.

Mumbai Indians Neeeds To Work In Bowling
Mumbai’s batting is fine to some extent, but the team’s bowling needs to improve. Its domestic bowlers – Basil Thampi and Murugan Ashwin – need to take responsibility.
Also, the team’s foreign bowlers Daniel Sams and Tymal Mills are a matter of concern. Sams and Mills had conceded a lot of runs against KKR.
Especially against Sams, Pat Cummins scored four sixes and two fours and added 35 runs in the 16th over. Jasprit Bumrah has been the best bowler for Mumbai Indians, but he also conceded a lot of runs against KKR.
RCB Won Two Out Of Three Matches
Talking about Royal Challengers Bangalore, the team has won two out of three matches and after starting the season with defeat, the team looks in a good rhythm. South Africa’s Faf du Plessis led RCB lost to Punjab Kings by five wickets in the first match. After which he registered consecutive wins over KKR (three wickets) and Rajasthan Royals (four wickets).
Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has impressed in the bowling while David Willey and Harshal Patel will have to do well to stop the Mumbai team. The team will expect consistency from Mohammad Siraj and Akashdeep.
