English midfielder Curtis Jones has signed a new long-term deal with the Reds, keeping him at Anfield until 2027.
How was everything?
The English player’s previous contract was set to expire in 2025 and it was previously reported that Curtis Jones was due to sign a new one. Curtis has entered into a new deal that will last until June 2027, extending his stay with the club he joined as an Under-9s player. The English footballer has already made 81 senior appearances for the club, providing eight goals and 10 assists in that time.
A little about the topic
The deal came within 18 months, during which the club linked the core of Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp’s side with extended deals. In midfield, however, the Reds look set to lose the likes of Guinean central midfielder Naby Keita, English midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and fellow English midfielder James Milner next summer, with all three out of contract and unlikely to last. While Curtis has yet to become a well-known starter, the deal suggests he is a key member in the Reds’ plans going forward.
What did Curtis Jones say?
English midfielder Curtis Jones told the Reds’ official website that first of all he wants to thank the coaching staff for believing in him, as always, for giving him a chance. Curtis Jones says sure for him, he’s over the moon, he’s good. According to the Englishman, this is his kid’s club, he’s a Scouser, he’s supported the club all his life, so yes, he’s thrilled and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
What will happen after this for Curtis Jones?
As the senior internationals compete in the World Championship, English player Curtis Jones will be gearing up for the Reds’ next competitive fixture after the break, against the Citizens in the Carabao Cup on December 22.
